This study critically examined the body of research on the connection between organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) and job satisfaction, with a particular emphasis on academic staff in institutions of higher learning in Nigeria. The research extracts knowledge from several empirical investigations based on Herzberg's two-factor and social exchange theories by employing a conceptual review approach. The results show a positive relationship between job happiness and OCB, indicating that contented workers are more willing to take up activities outside of their official job duties.
